Requirements:

  • Minimum size: 128×128 pixels
  • Maximum file size: 10MB per image

Features & Usage

What is the Heatmap Visualization?

The heatmap feature provides a visual overlay on your analyzed image showing suspicious regions:

  • Red overlay indicates areas with high AI generation suspicion
  • Darker red = higher suspicion level
  • Toggle on/off using the "Show Heatmap" button
  • Helps identify specific areas of concern in the image

How does Batch Analysis work?

Batch analysis allows you to process multiple images at once:

  • Upload 2-10 images simultaneously
  • Real-time progress tracking shows processing status
  • All results automatically saved to history
  • View summary statistics after completion
  • Perfect for bulk verification tasks

How do I use the Analysis History?

The history feature tracks all your past analyses:

  • Click the "History" button in the popup
  • View statistics dashboard (Total, AI, Real, Uncertain)
  • See thumbnail previews of analyzed images
  • Click any item to view full analysis results
  • Delete individual items or clear all history
  • Stores up to 50 most recent analyses

Can I export analysis results?

Yes! The extension offers two export options:

  • PDF Export: Download professional analysis reports with all details, charts, and signal breakdowns
  • Share Report: Copy formatted text report to clipboard for easy sharing

What are the 10 Detection Signals?

Each image is analyzed using 10 sophisticated detection methods:

Detection Signals Explained:

  • Metadata Analysis: Examines camera info, EXIF data, and software tags
  • Color Distribution: Analyzes color patterns and histograms
  • Noise Pattern: Distinguishes camera noise from AI noise
  • Edge Quality: Detects AI-generated halos and artifacts
  • Texture Coherence: Examines pattern consistency
  • Statistical Anomalies: Identifies unusual distributions
  • Geometric Consistency: Checks perspective accuracy
  • Frequency Analysis: Analyzes frequency domain patterns
  • Compression Artifacts: Examines JPEG compression
  • Pixel Analysis: Verifies dimensions and uniformity

Understanding Results

How do I interpret the AI Probability score?

The AI Probability is a percentage (0-100%) indicating the likelihood of AI generation:

  • 65-100% (Likely AI) - High confidence the image is AI-generated
  • 35-65% (Uncertain) - Mixed signals, inconclusive
  • 0-35% (Likely Real) - High confidence the image is real/authentic

Important: This is a probabilistic estimate, not a definitive verdict. Always combine with other verification methods.

What do the confidence levels mean?

Each detection signal shows a confidence percentage:

  • High (70-100%): Strong indicator of AI generation
  • Medium (40-69%): Moderate indicator
  • Low (0-39%): Weak or no indication

Can the extension be wrong?

Yes. The extension provides probabilistic estimates based on signal analysis. Factors that can affect accuracy:

  • Heavy image editing or compression
  • Very small images (< 512px)
  • Screenshots or re-saved images
  • New AI generation techniques
  • Artistic filters or effects

Best Practice: Use results as one factor in your verification process, not as sole evidence.

Troubleshooting

❌ Problem: "No analysis available" error

✓ Solution:

This means no image has been analyzed yet. Try:

  • Right-click an image and select "Analyze Image"
  • Or upload an image through the extension popup

❌ Problem: Context menu "Analyze Image" not appearing

✓ Solution:

1. Refresh the webpage (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R)

2. Make sure you're right-clicking on an actual image

3. Check that the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions/

❌ Problem: Heatmap not displaying

✓ Solution:

Heatmap requires successful analysis with heatmap data. If unavailable:

  • Try analyzing a different image
  • Ensure image is large enough (> 128px)
  • Check that analysis completed successfully

❌ Problem: Batch analysis fails

✓ Solution:

Check that:

  • You're uploading 2-10 images (not more)
  • Each image is under 10MB
  • All images are in supported formats (JPG, PNG, WebP)
  • Images are at least 128×128 pixels

❌ Problem: Extension is slow or unresponsive

✓ Solution:

1. Close and reopen the extension popup

2. Clear browser cache and reload

3. Try analyzing smaller images

4. Disable other extensions temporarily to check for conflicts

Privacy & Security

Is my data safe?
